This is one of the most impressive performances of the music ever recorded, the mono sound is incredible for the period, beautifully capturing rich acoustics of St. Eustache Church in Paris. Bearac's transfer is superb

Ask a question about this product

A friend once brought his lp of this compilation urging us to pay attention to an unknown Danish pianist whose recordings of both of which concertos he claimed he never heard surpassed. Truth to tell, his love for them had left the surfaces in such a condition that we immediately gave up any salvage effort. Still, for our luck, the lp (this time on a Nixa transfer) was available elsewhere and we enthusiastically rushed to get it. Here it is: a completely unknown Danish pianist, Folmer Jensen, a true master Mozartean, worthy of any praise in anyone's book of praises, accompanied in most modern style (a regular chamber orchestra, like the ones that started recording Mozart in the 70s and 80s!) led by the great Mogens Woeldicke. Stunning playing - this could have been played (and recorded) yesterday only.
